Foam

This test method is used to determine the foaming characteristics of lubrication oils. The sample is blown with air at a constant flow for a fixed time. The sample is then allowed to settle for up to 10 minutes while maintained at a constant temperature of approximately 24 ± 0.5°C. The foam is measured at the end of both time periods. This test can be repeated at 93.5 ± 0.5°C if required.
