Health, Safety, and Environment Officer

A Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer vacancy is available, at our headquarters in Odiham, Hampshire.  This is a permanent, full time position which involves carrying out all HSE duties, translating HSE management policies into practice, tracking related legislation and keeping the HSE management policies / systems and related documentation up to date, identifying any concerns to management, acting as first point of contact for any hazards, undertaking regular HSE and other related assessments, audits, and inspections, and maintaining the Company’s ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 working practices.  From time to time assistance may need to be provided to our sister companies both within Europe and the US.

We are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, motivated, with a willingness to learn, who are able to use their initiative, and think independently.  Ideally, the HSE officer should have the appropriate training, skills and experience to competently perform their responsibilities, experience of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, full CMIOSH status, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent, First Aid at Work, COSHH, and Gas Safety.  Also, the successful candidate should:

  • normally be educated to degree level;
  • normally have held management / supervisory responsibility prior to this appointment and should have undergone management training;
  • strive to command the respect and trust of all personnel;
  • combine drive and determination with good interpersonal skills, to lead, motivate, and develop a multi-tasked team to higher levels of achievement;
  • must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, clients, customers, and other external parties;
  • must be PC literate, with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs;
  • have a good standard of both written and spoken English;
  • be prepared to work outside the standard working hours per week to ensure that operations are constantly supported.

The hours are Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day.
